Safe Plants for Pet birds

  Choose wood that has not been treated with pesticides or other chemicals. Choose wood that is clean, free of visible mold, fungus, disease or putrefaction spots. Trees safe for perches and bird toys include almond,  Ash, apple, Beech,Manzanita,  Arbutus,Cottonwood,  dogwood, Aspen,Redwood,  Bamboo, Hazel, Birch, Crabapple,elm, Palms, pear, walnut, fir, pine, Larch,  Mulberry, poplar, Hawthorne, Lilac, Magnolia, Mimosa,Willow. To kill  fungi, mildew,parasites and bacteria before using the wood, take all the branches of a few gallons of water, a tablespoon of bleach for one hour. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. To dry twigs, baking in an oven of 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour. Dry bigger branches outdoors in sunlight.
